Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Corporation Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government (1) if he will indicate the number of houses built by the Cork Corporation during each of the years 1945 to 1949 inclusive; (2) the location and number in each scheme completed in these years; (3) the amount of grant or financial assistance of any kind given by his Department for houses built in these years by the Cork Corporation.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to circulate in the Official Report:—

Following is the statement:

(1) and (2) The particulars requested by the Deputy under (1) and (2) are not readily available in respect of the calendar years in question. The following are the particulars for the financial years 1944-45 to 1948-49 inclusive:—

(3) No claims for contributions towards loan charges have been received from the corporation in respect of the houses built in these years.

As regards Transition Development Fund grants, as I pointed out to the Deputy in a written reply on the 23rd ultimo no payments from the fund have been made to the corporation, as final details of the finances of the schemes carried out in the period are awaited.
