Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clare Water and Sewerage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) how many water-supply and sewerage schemes in respect of the administrative County of Clare are before his Department for examination and approval; (b) the names of towns and villages in respect of which these schemes were prepared; (c) how many have been approved within the financial year 1949-50 by his Department; and the names of the towns and villages these will serve, and (d) what is the reason for delay in respect of the other schemes submitted.

The following is the information: (a) Seven water supply schemes and one sewerage scheme; (b) Ennis (water supply improvements); Ennistymon (water supply improvements); Killaloe (water supply improvements); Kilmihil (water supply); Mountshannon (water supply); New-market-on-Fergus (water supply); Six-milebridge (water supply); Sixmile-bridge (laying of sewer). (c) Six schemes were approved for the following areas: Clarecastle (water supply); Kilkee (sewerage and improvements to water supply at West End); Killadysert (sewerage); Lisdoonvarna (water supply); and Tulla (sewerage). (d) Technical details of the schemes mentioned under (b) are being examined in my Department.
