Vol. 120 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sewerage and Water Schemes (North Kerry).

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will indicate the villages in North Kerry where sewerage and water schemes are considered necessary and places where such schemes are to be carried out during the present financial year.

I am not in a position to furnish a comprehensive list of villages in North Kerry where water and sewerage schemes are considered necessary, but the local authority's programme for the next few years makes provision for water schemes at Annascaul, Fenit, Newtownsandes, Tarbert and Ballyheigue; and for sewerage schemes at Annascaul, Ballyheigue, Ballylongford, Ballybunion and Brosna. In addition, work is in progress on a sewerage scheme at Castlegregory; work has been authorised on a water supply at Ballybunion; and the preparation of plans and other documents for a water supply scheme at Lixnaw is proceeding.

I am not in a position to say how much of the foregoing programme of works will be completed during the course of the current financial year.
