Vol. 121 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fishing Rights on the Erne.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether the Electricity Supply Board have taken over control of fishing rights on the Erne: and, if so, from what date; and whether a manager has been appointed; and, if so, his name and the conditions of his appointment.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that they have agreed with the Erne Fisheries Company to purchase the company's fishing rights on the River Erne in County Donegal as from the 1st May, 1950.

The appointment of a person to control the fisheries, as in the case of any other post in the service of the Electricity Supply Board, is a matter for the board and I have no responsibility.
