Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Landless Men.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have decided that under the terms of the 1939 Land Act the commission are prevented from allotting holdings of land to landless men, viz., farmers' sons and labourers.

The persons or bodies to whom the Land Commission may make advances for the purchase of parcels of land from the Land Commission are defined by statute and are set out categorically in Section 31 of the Land Act, 1923.
