Vol. 121 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wicklow Forestry Worker.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that Mr. Patrick McCabe, Ballybrew, Enniskerry, an employee of the Forestry Division of the Department of Lands was injured in an accident during the course of his work on the 24th February last, and whether, in view of the fact that Mr. McCabe has been refused sickness benefit by the National Health Society because he comes under the provisions of workmen's compensation, he will indicate the cause of the unreasonable delay in having compensation paid to him, and arrange for early payment in view of the hardship he has undergone.

It has not yet been established that Mr. McCabe's inability to work is due to an accident. Every effort is being made to ascertain sufficient information to enable a decision to be taken as to whether Mr. McCabe's claim is admissible or not.
