Vol. 121 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River and Sea Embankments, Kerry.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is now in a position to state whether the Land Commission have under consideration any fresh proposals for the repair of the river and sea embankments in the Godfrey, Marshall and Ventry estates; and, if so, if he will give full particulars of the grants which it is proposed to make.

The embankment in Calanafercy East on the Marshall estate has been repaired as the occupiers of the benefiting lands made the required contributions towards the work. The repair of the embankment in Calanafercy West on the same estate could not be undertaken as the persons concerned refused to accept the Land Commission's offer. These persons recently intimated that they would now co-operate in the work, and the matter is being re-examined.

The remainder of the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, and I propose, with the Ceann Comhairle's permission, to have it circulated in the Official Report.

The statement is as follows:—
