Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tea and Sugar Subsidies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the amount of subsidies paid by or from the Exchequer on (a) tea, (b) sugar, and (c) butter in each of the financial years 1947-48, 1948-49 and 1949-50.

The subsidy on butter is payable from funds for which the Minister for Agriculture is responsible and any question on the subject should be addressed to him.

The subsidy paid on tea and sugar from the Vote for the Department of Industry and Commerce in the years in question was as follows:—
