Vol. 121 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Sewerage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cause of the delay in carrying out the proposed sewerage scheme in the village of Tarbert, County Kerry.

The sewerage scheme for Tarbert cannot be proceeded with until an improved water supply has been provided. Proposals in connection with the water supply were received in my Department on the 17th instant, and are being examined.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cause of the delay in carrying out the long overdue sewerage scheme in the village of Lixnaw, County Kerry.

A sewerage scheme for Lixnaw cannot be proceeded with until a satisfactory water supply has been provided. Contract documents for a water supply scheme for Lixnaw have been submitted to my Department and a decision on them will issue shortly.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether the documents in connection with the Annascaul, County Kerry, water and sewerage schemes have been received in his Department; and, if so, on what date they were received; and when it is proposed to begin work on these very necessary schemes.

A preliminary report and drawings in connection with the proposed water supply at Annascaul were received in my Department on the 19th May, 1950; no documents have been received in connection with the sewerage scheme. It is not possible to say at this stage when work will begin on these schemes.
