Vol. 122 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sheep Dipping in Kerry.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will declare the Ballyheigue-Kerryhead district, County Kerry, a scheduled area for sheep dipping so that the county council may be empowered to provide the necessary facilities to deal with an outbreak of sheep scab.

Following a communication from my Department, the Kerry County Council recently passed a resolution regarding the adoption of measures to deal with sheep scab in the area mentioned by the Deputy. This will involve the extension of the council's sheep dipping regulations to cover that area, and my Department is advising the council as to the arrangements necessary to give practical effect thereto.
