Vol. 123 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry-Cork Electrification Scheme.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what provision is being made for the extension of the rural electrification scheme to Ballydesmond on the Kerry-Cork border and when the extension is likely to be put into operation.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that it is proposed to commence an official canvass of the Ballydesmond rural area early in the year 1951. It is not possible to indicate at this stage whether the result of that canvass will be such as to justify the selection of this area.
