Vol. 123 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inspection of Creameries.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of inspectors engaged in the work of inspection of creameries for the purpose of ensuring that the terms of the Employment Regulation Order (Creameries Joint Labour Committee), 1949, are being put into force.

None of the industrial inspectors are assigned whole-time to the work of enforcing the Employment Regulation Order (Creameries Joint Labour Committee), 1949. Fourteen inspectors are certificated for the general enforcement of Employment Regulation Orders, and, as stated in reply to another question to-day, the inspectors visited 403 creameries during the 12-month period, October, 1949, to October, 1950.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of inspections of creameries made from the 4th November, 1949, when the Employment Regulation Order (Creameries Joint Labour Committee), 1949, came into effect, to the 4th November, 1950.

During this period 403 creameries to which the Employment Regulation Order applies have been inspected.
