Vol. 123 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Rural Electrification.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the Electricity Supply Board intend to proceed with rural electrification in the parish of Lixnaw, County Kerry.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the Lixnaw rural area has been considered on several occasions for development but has not been selected, as the ratio of the fixed charge revenue to the estimated capital cost of construction was not sufficiently high. The area will again be considered by the board before the end of this year, but it is not possible at this stage to indicate whether it will qualify for selection.
