Vol. 123 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tariffs and Quotas.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of the proposals relating inter alia to tariffs and quotas which have been agreed by the Government and referred to by him in reply to a question on the 9th November, which were the result of proposals made by the Industrial Development Authority for the expansion of industry.

Twenty-two applications for new or increased protection by way of tariff or quota, granted by the Government, were the subject of favourable recommendations. Some of these were designed to assist new industries in establishing themselves and others to create conditions favourable for the expansion of established industries.
