Vol. 123 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Landing Facilities.

Mr. Blaney

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he has recently received a resolution from the Glengad Fishery Development Committee in connection with the provision of proper landing facilities and other facilities at Glengad and if he will state what action he proposes taking in the matter.

I have received the communication referred to by the Deputy. A State grant of 50 per cent. of the cost of a scheme for the improvement of the landing facilities at Portaleen (Glengad) was offered to the Donegal County Council in June last. The offer was not accepted but the council put forward an alternative scheme. This scheme has been under consideration and a communication will be addressed to the council in connection therewith at an early date.
