Vol. 123 No. 14

- Profit on Foodstuffs.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total quantities of (a) unrationed tea, (b) unrationed sugar, (c) butter, (d) flour of 75 per cent. extraction, (e) bread of 75 per cent. extraction, sold retail and the estimated profit accruing therefrom to the Exchequer or Comhlucht Siúicre (Éireann) Teoranta, in the ten months ending 31st December, 1949, and the ten months ending 31st October, 1950.

I have no information about the retail sales of the unrationed commodities mentioned and I could not, therefore, supply the information about the financial return therefrom for which the Deputy has asked. In the case of Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann, Teoranta, the Deputy must be aware that the company is a commercial concern and, even if I had the information sought, it would be contrary to practice for me to disclose it.
