Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballingarry Coal Mine.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state, in respect of the coal mine operated by Mianrai, Teo., at Ballingarry (1) the present daily output of coal; (2) when it is expected the estimated output of 100 tons per day will be reached; (3) the number of workers employed; (4) the total sum already advanced to the company for the development of this mine, and (5) the amount remaining unexpended of the £38,000 provided by the Minerals Company (Amendment) Act, 1950.

The information sought by the Deputy is as follows:—

(1) The present daily output of coal at the coal mine operated by Mianraí, Teoranta, at Ballingarry is 50 tons;

(2) it is expected that the estimated output of 100 tons per day will be reached by September, 1951;

(3) the number of workers employed is 150;

(4) the total sum already advanced to the company for the development of this mine is £65,090;

(5) the amount remaining unexpended of the £38,000 provided by the Minerals Company (Amendment) Act, 1950, is £15,630.
