Vol. 124 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bantry Pier.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will have immediate steps taken to have the approaches to, and the east side of, the old stone pier at Bantry properly dredged.

The pier referred to is the property of the Cork County Council, and I have no functions in regard to it.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say whether in the near future, he will be able to make a dredger available to the county council for the purpose of carrying out this necessary work?

The Parliamentary Secretary has no function in the matter.

He is the only one who has dredgers at his disposal.

If we have one available we may, but it is not very likely.
