Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Consumption of Butter.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the average consumption of creamery and farmers' butter per head of the population for the years 1950 and 1940.

The average consumption of creamery butter per head of the population in Ireland in 1950 was 27¾ lb. The corresponding figure for farmers' butter is provisionally estimated at 13½ lb. In 1940 the average consumption of creamery and farmers' butter per head of the population was 18 lb. and 16 lb. respectively.
