The only sources of information relevant to the Deputy's question which are available are the particulars of employment for one week in each month furnished to the Central Statistics Office pursuant to Orders made under the Statistics Act, 1926. These are used solely for the purpose of producing statistical aggregates for all concerns in an industrial group. The particulars for individual concerns are by statute strictly confidential and cannot be disclosed without the consent in writing of the proprietor of the concern. Such consent has not been asked for in this particular case.
Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the number of weeks' employment given in 1947-48 in Rushbrooke Dockyard extended to 8½ months and for the corresponding period last year was less than four months?
I am not so aware.
I suggest you have a look at it.
