asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether county council workers were allowed a half-day on Friday, 16th March, 1951, owing to Saturday, 17th March, 1951, being St. Patrick's Day.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Council Workers' Half-Holiday.
Information regarding leave arrangements made for county council workers is not furnished to my Department; and in the time available it was not possible to secure the information, which in any event could probably only be obtained by circularising all county councils. I might add that in my view the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1939, does not require that an extra half-holiday be granted when the public holiday falls on the normal short day.
