Vol. 125 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Imported Coal.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will have a further inquiry made into the price of imported coal with a view to a downward adjustment of the price to the consumer because of the greater quantity of British coal which we are now receiving as compared with the position prevailing when the present high price was fixed.

The prices fixed for coal are at present being reviewed in the light of the increased allocation of British coal but regard must also be had to the fact that there has been an increase in import cost of this coal. Any necessary price adjustments will be made as soon as possible.
