Vol. 125 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Healy Estate—County Roscommon.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether a tenant for the holding of land on the Healy estate at Ardcarne, Boyle, County Roscommon, has been selected; and, if not, why not.

I propose to take together Questions Nos. 10 and 11.

There are as yet no approved schemes for the allotment of these lands. The matter is at present in hands.

Is the Minister aware that this land has been in the hands of the Land Commission for the last 15 or 16 years and that it has been let every year at excessive prices? would he not agree that the land is deteriorating to such an extent that if it is handled in the same fashion for the next 16 years it will be scarcely worth anything? Is it not time that the Land Commission should take some definite action in the way of allocating this land?

A scheme for allotment is in the hands of the Land Commission inspectors at the moment.
