Vol. 125 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Value of Savings Certificates.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the present nominal value, including accrued interest, of a national savings certificate purchased in April, 1946, for 15/-, and what is its real purchasing power now.

The purchase price of a savings certificate in April, 1946, was 16/- and its present nominal value, including accrued interest, would be 18/2, which has now about the same purchasing power as 16/3 had in April, 1946.
