Vol. 126 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pension Increase.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if it is proposed at an early date to pay to the old age pensioners the 2/6 increase promised by his predecessor as the money to pay the increase was stated to be included in the Budget proposals.

The Deputy is aware, I have no doubt, that the increase in question involves legislation by the Oireachtas. I am, to-day, asking leave to introduce a Bill for the purpose.
