Vol. 126 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - High Court Sittings in Cork.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he will arrange to have regular sittings of the High Court, in addition to the Appeal Court, in the southern capital, in view of the fact that Cork is the second city in the State and because of the very great expense at present being imposed on litigants by having to bring southern witnesses to Dublin.

I am having the Deputy's suggestion examined, but I can give no indication at present as to whether it is likely to be adopted or not.

When the Minister is considering the matter, will he have regard to this fact, that it has happened on several occasions when a large number of witnesses have been brought to Dublin and kept in Dublin for a week that the case in which they were to give evidence did not come on for hearing in that particular week at all?

Mr. Boland

Everything will be taken into consideration.
