Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ship Repairs.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state the amount spent by Irish Shipping, Limited, on (a) ship repair work during the last 12 months, and (b) the amount paid to the Cork Dockyard Company for repairs, during the same period.

I am informed by Irish Shipping, Limited, that the amount spent by them on ship repair work during the last 12 months was £38,297. The amount paid to the Cork Dockyard Company during the same period was £23,157. In addition a sum of £14,593 was paid to other Irish shipyards and firms supplying material for ship repairs.
