As announced last May, the importation of raw tomatoes will be prohibited during August and September next except under licence and it is not the intention that import licences be granted during that period. As a result, it is anticipated that growers under the scheme will obtain a remunerative price for their produce this season. In the circumstances, I do not propose to guarantee a minimum price as suggested.
