Vol. 126 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Sewerage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department has received proposals from the Kerry County Council for the carrying out of a sewerage scheme in Lixnaw village; and, if so, when approval will be issued to them.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cause of the delay in carrying out the proposed water scheme for Lixnaw village, County Kerry.

With your permission, a Chinn Chomhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 58 and 62 together.

Contract documents received from the sanitary authority for the Lixnaw water supply scheme were approved early this month and the submission of a detailed design for the water tower was requested.

A sewerage scheme for Lixnaw cannot be proceeded with until a satisfactory water supply has been provided.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department has received proposals from the Kerry County Council for the carrying out of a sewerage scheme for Ballylongford village, County Kerry; if so, whether he will state if the scheme has been approved and when work is likely to commence.

Preliminary plans have been received and an inspection has been made in connection with this scheme. Observations arising out of the examination of the plans and the inspection will be issued to the sanitary authority in the near future.

I am not in a position to state when work is likely to commence.
