Vol. 126 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Mail Deliveries.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that a letter posted in the City of Dublin took seven days to be delivered in the city area and if he will take such steps as are necessary to ensure the prevention of a similar occurrence.

As no particulars have been furnished it is not possible to say how the delay occurred. If the Deputy will send me the envelope I shall have inquiry made in the matter.

Over 300,000 items are posted every day in the Dublin area, and, however efficient the distribution service, an isolated instance of delay may occur.

I shall give the Minister the particulars.
