Vol. 126 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - House for Blasket Islanders.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that there is a family resident on the Blasket Islands with one child; that this child is the only one on the island, where no school facilities exist, and whether, in view of the necessity for ensuring that the child is adequately educated, he will consult with the Minister for Local Government with a view to requesting the Kerry County Council to take special steps to provide a house on the mainland for the family so that the child in question will not be deprived of opportunities for education.

I shall consult with the Minister for Local Government as the Deputy suggests.
