Vol. 126 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Small Dwellings Acts Loans (County Dublin).

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state when will all the outstanding loans applied for under the Small Dwellings (Acquisition) Acts be paid by the Dublin County Council in view of the fact that the applications for loans are held up unduly and as a large number of applicants and contractors are very embarrassed by the delay; and, if so, will he have the whole position expedited.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given by me yesterday to a similar question by Deputy Belton.

Is the Minister aware that contractors who try to build houses under the loan system are held up as a result of delays about legal matters in Dublin County Council? There are a number of solicitors idle who would definitely take on the job of giving this gentleman a hand.

Is the Minister aware that since I made representations on this matter it has been very much improved?

I am aware that with the assistance of all the Dublin Deputies I will not suffer from any lack of knowledge on this and on other matters in their constituency.

Mr. Rooney rose.

Question No. 61.

Give him a chance; the Third Man.
