Vol. 126 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Roads Resurfacing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the inconvenience caused to the public and the loss experienced by the business community due to the extensive resurfacing programme in Dublin and Dún Laoghaire; and, if so, if he will expedite the completion of the work.

These works are being carried out by the road authorities concerned, the Corporations of Dublin and Dún Laoghaire, and I am satisfied that these authorities are taking all possible steps to expedite the completion of the works and that they have been planned and are being undertaken in accordance with the best arrangements possible to ensure that the disturbance to traffic, which is unavoidable, will be kept to the minimum. I am satisfied that greater speed of execution could be secured only at the cost of greater traffic dislocation and greater public inconvenience.
