asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) the amount of money allocated to the Dublin County Council for roads; (b) when the allocation was made; (c) under what headings, and if he will confirm that the road grants were not cut since the present Minister took office.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Road Grants.
The reply, which contains statistical information on the lines requested by the Deputy will, with your permission, a Chinn Chomhairle, be circulated in the Official Report. The following is the information:—
There will be no alteration in the amounts of the grants allocated from the Road Fund for the current year to the Dublin County Council. The total amount allocated is £65,576, made up as follows:—
Main Road Cpkeep Grant |
£32,576 notified on 7th May, 1951. |
Main Road Improvement Grant |
£18,000 notified on 19th February, 1951. |
Co. Road Improvement Grant |
£15,000 notified on 19th February, 1951. |
Would the Minister be prepared to increase the road grants for Dublin County Council in the coming year?
I suppose the Minister is aware that Deputy Rooney voted for a reduction in the road grants.
