Vol. 126 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Water and Sewerage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what steps, if any, have been taken in connection with the necessity for water and sewerage schemes for Gneeveguilla, Barraduff, Scartaglin and Portmagee. County Kerry.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that applications have been made to the local authority for an extension of the Killarney water supply to Lissirigeen and for the erection of pumps at Knockeenduff East and West, near Killarney, and at Faha Cross, Beaufort; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take in the matter.

asked the Minister for Local Government if any provision has been made during the current financial year for an extension of the Kenmare water supply to Rock Street (Kenmare), Reen and Templeroe Cross Roads and to the residents on the south side of Our Lady's Bridge.

With your permission, a Chinn Chomhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 70, 71 and 72 together.

Inquiries have been made from the sanitary authority as to the provision made in their current estimates for extensions to existing water supply schemes and the erection of pumps. The result will be conveyed to the Deputy in due course.

In reply to a question by the Deputy last week details were given of the sanitary authority's present programme of major sanitation works for South Kerry. This programme does not include the places mentioned by the Deputy in Question No. 70. The formulation of the programme is a matter for the sanitary authority guided by the recommendations of their county medical officer.
