Vol. 127 No. 1

Questions— Written Answers. - Afforestation at Glencar, County Kerry.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the delay in regard to the carrying through of the afforestation programme on the Eagar estate, Glencar, County Kerry; and, if so, whether he is in a position to make a definite statement in the matter.

asked the Minister for Lands if all agreements in connection with the acquisition by the forestry division, of Lickeen, Glencar, as a key centre, are now fully completed; and, if so, if he will state when work is likely to start on the scheme.

The position here is still as indicated in the reply given to Deputy Flynn on the 20th June, 1951. The Department is making every effort to have the acquisition of the Eagar estate at Lickeen completed. Title investigations are proceeding but are complicated and will take the vendors' solicitors some time to complete.
