Vol. 127 No. 1

Questions— Written Answers. - County Donegal Water and Sewerage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is proposed to have a proper sewerage scheme installed in the town of Dunfanaghy, County Donegal.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is proposed to proceed with installation of a water supply in the town of Dunfanaghy, County Donegal.

There are no proposals before me for the provision of a piped water supply or sewerage in Dunfanaghy. I understand that both these services already exist in the town but that the water supply has proved inadequate to meet the demand in dry seasons. Efforts by the sanitary authority to obtain a supplementary supply from local sources have not met with success and the sanitary authority are considering, as a long-term proposal, the extension to Dunfanaghy of a water supply scheme now in preparation for Creeslough. I am informed by the sanitary authority that the existing sewerage system is functioning satisfactorily.
