Vol. 127 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Linen Industry.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will urge the Industrial Development Authority to speed up its investigations into the establishment of a linen industry in West Cork.

Steps towards the establishment of a linen industry in Cork have already been taken. Plans are well advanced for the erection, by private enterprise, of a linen spinning mill which is expected to be in operation towards the end of next year and which should absorb the bulk of the flax grown in West Cork.
