Vol. 127 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Departments of Health and Social Welfare.

asked the Taoiseach whether he is yet in a position to appoint separate Ministers to the Department of Health and to the Department of Social Welfare.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply the Taoiseach gave in this House to a question and supplementary question on this matter on the 4th July last. The position is still as then indicated by the Taoiseach.

May I ask can the Tánaiste give an indication as to when the Taoiseach will be in a position finally to allocate these Departments? If my recollection is right, the Taoiseach stated in announcing the appointments of Ministers that the present arrangement was a temporary measure and in reply to a number of supplementary questions asked on that occasion he repeated that statement. May we have some indication as to when they will be finally allocated?

I cannot give that indication.
