Vol. 127 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Kerry Employment Schemes.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that there are very few important employment schemes scheduled for South Kerry, particularly Valentia Island, Glenbeigh and Killorglin; and, if so, whether he will take steps to allocate the necessary grants for the carrying through of urgent schemes in these areas at an early date.

The proportionate amount available from the Employment and Emergency Schemes Vote has been allocated as employment schemes for the areas in question. In addition, a special grant has been authorised for the improvement of landing facilities at Knightstown, Valentia, but owing to the nature of the latter scheme, it is not anticipated that work will start on it before the spring.
