Vol. 127 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Laoighis Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when the Land Commission will be in a position to acquire for division amongst local people the Anderson estate at Timahoe, County Laoighis, and if a scheme for the division of the lands will be put in operation at once.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands but are having inquiries made in the matter.

Is the Minister aware that a letter was forwarded to me stating that they were awaiting the valuer's report? How does he reconcile that communication with the reply he has just given?

Inquiries have been made in the matter. A report has been asked for from the inspector.

Has the report been received?

The Deputy should put down another question.

It is quite obvious if the valuer has gone to the lands he has gone for the purpose of determining the price the Land Commission will pay. That would indicate that proceedings for acquisition have reached a very advanced stage.
