Vol. 127 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Expenditure.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the total expenditure of the Forestry Division (excluding the purchase price of lands) for the quarters January-March, April-June and July-September of this year.

The total expenditure out of the Forestry Vote (excluding the purchase price of lands) was approximately £229,000 in January to March, £215,000 in April to June and £247,000 in July to September this year.

Will the Minister now take steps to increase the acquisition staff of the Forestry Division?

The acquisition staff has been increased already since the change of Government. It had been increased prior to that. If any further increase is necessary, I shall consider the matter very carefully.
