Vol. 127 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Presidential Election.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is in a position to state the approximate date upon which it is proposed to hold the presidential election.

The term of office of the President will expire on the 24th June, 1952, and the next ordinary presidential election, as required by the Constitution, will be held between the 25th of April and the 24th June, inclusive. The actual date will be fixed in due course under the Presidential Elections Act, 1937. I am not yet in a position to say what the actual date will be.

Or who the candidates will be.
