Vol. 127 No. 7

Delegates to Council of Europe.

For the purposes of accuracy of the record, may I call the attention of the Minister for External Affairs to the reply which he gave to-day to Question No. 40 on the Order Paper? Lest that reply might indicate that I was one of the delegates, I should like to mention that I indicated to his office last week that I would be unable to go. If the Minister said that I was originally one of the delegates selected, that would be accurate, but lest the Minister is still under the impression, which I corrected in his office last week, I should like to mention for the accuracy of the record, that I am not now one of the delegates.

I was asked who were the delegates. Deputy Norton knows there are four delegates of which he is one. If the Deputy does not wish to go to Strasbourg, that is his own business.

May I point out to the Minister that the question he was asked was if he would indicate the names of the delegates travelling to the Council of Europe meeting at Strasbourg?

There is nobody travelling at the moment.

How are they to go if they are not travelling?

They are not travelling; they are still here, but they are the delegates.

I suppose in these famous ships of yours.
