asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the great demand in the country for the former Sunday Question Time feature on Radio Éireann, as also the Listen and Learn programme; and, if so, whether he will now take immediate steps towards the restoration of these programmes.

As indicated in my reply to a question on the 31st October, Radio Éireann does not intend to revive Question Time in its previous form but has arranged a series of Country Quiz programmes in conjunction with the Young Farmers' Clubs. These programmes will be broadcast on Sunday evenings as from the 2nd December.
It is intended to repeat the first series of Listen and Learn programmes, but it will be some time before this can be arranged as it will first be necessary to get a further supply of the Listen and Learn booklets so that learners of Irish can get the full benefit from the programmes.
