asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of local authority housing on the last convenient date, on the similar date in 1950 and on 31st May, 1951, differentiating between urban and rural areas (1) the number of houses in progress; (2) the number of houses where tenders were accepted but work not yet begun; (3) the number of further houses where tenders have been invited; (4) the number of further houses where sites have been acquired and house plans approved; and (5) the number of further houses where sites have been acquired but house plans have not yet been approved.

The following is the statement which is based on information furnished by local authorities:—

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of the last day of December, 1950, and of each month in 1951 in respect of houses being completed by local authorities: (1) the number of houses (a) in progress, (b) for which tenders had been accepted or invited and (c) for which site development was in progress; (2) the number of skilled men employed and (3) the total number of men employed on housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the total number of dwellings completed by local authorities from 31st March, 1947, to the latest available date and the number of such houses completed in December, 1950, and each month thereafter to date.

The following is the statement which is based on information furnished by local authorities:—

The total number of dwellings completed by local authorities between 31st March, 1947, and 31st October, 1951, was 20,291.

The numbers of such houses completed in December, 1950, and in each subsequent month were as follows:—
