Vol. 128 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport Tribunal Applicable to Canals.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when he proposes to set up the transport tribunal applicable to canals so that the Kildare County Council may make some progress towards the removal of the existing dangerous bridge on the Naas-Droichead Nua Road.

Steps are at present being taken to set up the transport tribunal which will deal with questions relating to canals and branch railway lines.

I am informed by Córas Iompair Éireann that agreement has not yet been fully reached with the Kildare County Council in regard to the conditions for the erection of the new bridge on the Naas-Droichead Nua Road and that, in consequence, they are not yet in a position to make an application to the tribunal.
