Vol. 129 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Ross Harbour

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when it is proposed to commence work on the new jetty at New Ross Harbour as recommended by the Office of Public Works survey.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the improvement of facilities at New Ross harbour will be commenced.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 29 and 30 together.

The Commissioners of Public Works are engaged in the preparation of plans and estimates for a new jetty at New Ross based on the survey which was recently carried out by their engineers. It is not possible to indicate at this stage when work on the new jetty can be commenced.

Can the Minister say if money will be provided in this year's Estimates for the project?

I would prefer to have notice of that. I gather that the cost will be considerably higher than the estimate.

Then Mr. Butler will require notice of the question.
