It is assumed that the Deputy refers to increases in certain postal and telephone rates which were introduced with effect from 9th July, 1951 and 1st October, 1951 respectively. The amounts received by my Department from these increased charges during the period 1/7/1951 to 31/12/1951 were £100,000 approximately in respect of postal rates and £6,000 approximately in respect of telephone rates.
