Vol. 129 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Butter Imports.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the amount of foreign butter imported in 1951, what amount will be imported in 1952, and the comparative prices for this butter in both years.

100,007 cwt. of butter were imported during 1951 at an average c.i.f. price of 372/11 per cwt. Arrangements have been made for the importation of approximately 110,000 cwt. of butter during 1952 at 376/- per cwt. c.i.f.

Is there any possibility of importing any of that "Brian Boru" butter which we got from Deputy Corry last year?

Mr. Walsh

No, I do not think so.
